I can't believe it's almost winter break! I feel like just yesterday we were in the first week of school and everyone was still quiet and to themselves. Now there's only 97 more school days left in the year, we're almost halfway done. Pretty soon I'm gonna be walking in Rupp Arena walking toward my principal, getting my graduation paper.
Starting this AP class, honestly gave me a fright, but I made it, 3 more classes and I would be done with my first semester of senior AP english. ^.^ Even though the class was a struggle, I don't regret taking it. This class gave me a perspective on how college would be and what to expect. It made me raise my standards and push myself more. AP English benefited me in multiple ways including, read at a high level, concentrate on what I'm reading, and push myself to write more proficiently. I am gonna say one thing though, I am not gonna miss these blogs. They're a pain in the butt, I mean I understand why Mr. Mullins wanted us to write them and whatnot but I really don't believe it has helped me in anyway. It just sucks if you accidentally forget to do it or remember at the last second and have to cramp your hand and write a > 150 word blog >. < My most frustration came from having ro submit some of my assignments on turnitin, if we had to do it online I would have actually preferred the normal method. Buttttt, tis just my opinion. This class was a huge help in changing my perspective but I'm honestly happy with taking adv senior english and having a flowy kind of year. I know that's not making myself the best I can but, I really just want to relax before I hace to get into the real hard work. Saaianaaraa amigoossss. P.S. I'm still excited for my AP final :)

The Importance of Being Earnest. We've been watching this movie in class, the past two class periods and I absolutely love it. It's on my top 5 favorite movies showed in class for sure. I love the tricky and sneaky way of the satire and the theme and plot. How two guys call themselves Earnest but, in the end, get caught. I honestly hope we get to finish the movie in the class because I'm really interested in seeing how it all spans out.
We also have to be done with our independent reading books next week. That's a plus for me because I feel confident in my book and I'm ready to take our essay or mwds or whatever else Mr. Mullins throws at us.
In addition we also need to begin and be finished with our final project by the 18th. When I heard this was our final on Tuesday, it absolutely brightened my day. It made my day and no one could take that away from me. I'm excited to do this project because I think I can do very well on it and it's a plus because it'll help raise my grade. /(O.O)/

I am officially done with Hamlet and Shakespeare. On that note, I am also extremely ready to begin Satire. I feel like this section will be more interesting to me more than our tragedy and comedy unit and a tad better than our short story unit.
I didn't enjoy our pop-essay after Thanksgiving break, especially because it took me loads of time to figure out what the prompt actually meant. After I figured it out, I doubt I found enough sufficient evidence to help me with actually writing my answer and responding correctly to the question. Ugh.
I'm also super excited to catch up some independent reading in class because I've been slacking a bit on starting this third book. As a plus, Mr. Mullins told us we're going to spend two class periods on a satire movie and also get out of our class for a school play production.
I feel like I'm moving on to graduate with full speed ahead.
P.S. Even though this might be totally irrelevant I just want to say that I am still a little confused on why Hamlet contemplated suicide for soo long yet said in his soliloquy that it was wrong?

Whew. Today was definitely the quickest class I've had in English all year. I liked doing this as our independent reading in-class "essay," but I feel like I still did kind of bad because of the symbols and definitely the themes.
I read Pride & Prejudice and I admit, I did kind of like it. It was apparently published 199 years ago... but it was still very well written for it's time. If someone reading this decides that they wanna try it out, then here's some help; first look up a plot summary and/or characters list. The character list for sure because trust me, with it read before-hand, reading the book will be sooo much easier to read and not to mention smoother. The book is pretty lengthy, containing 61 chapters but the chapters themselves aren't really but 2-5 pages. It was a good book yet not a complete "easy to read," so I would definitely recommend it to my friend or neighbor.
Before I started writing my blog I read a couple others and I'm having a real hard time choosing between "The Blind Assassin" and "The White Tiger." I was sure I wanted the first one but after reading my friend's blog I believe I might actually want to try out the second, regardless how long it is, because it sounds amazing.
This weekend I'm focusing on: doing all my college applications/finishing them, finishing Hamlet and the worksheet, and going to try to read a book in about 2 days.
.... Yup. Pretty much sums up my exciting life.

Guess what I'mmmm doing. Petia is revising her final draft tonight so a teacher can help tell me what she thinks tomorrow. Yes, I procrastinated, terribly. And you'd think that I'd learn a lesson now and do better, but no. I look out the window and it's sooo dark, I actually just woke up from a 15 minute nap. I can't believe it's only 6. Well I'm half-way done with our reading assignment for tonight and so far, I'm confused. I don't understand any of it, it's all just a bundled up mess.
One of Mr. Mullins' suggestions for a blog entry was to write about your favorite place to read. There's not much to expand on this, like he said, but I was actually thinking about this statement myself last Saturday. I began to notice how cold it was that Saturday and when I woke up how much I was looking forward to going back to bed and reading. So my answer to the question is, my favorite place to read is on my bed with a cup of warm herbal-mint tea. :3 I know that's really cheesy and expected but it's true. I feel like the only time I really like and enjoy reading is when it's cold outside. I bundle up with a book and my internet. So I guess my favorite reading season has officially began. Woooot. :)
Maybe I could be abandoned in a house like this, but it be safe and more constructive of course. :)

Well there is 5 days & counting left until the submition of my final draft. I am scared out of my pants, I'm scared that I will not improve in any way and my grade will forever stay a C. One thing I am excited for this weekend is getting to cuddle up with my blankets and my independent reading book and read that. :) This week we finished Oedipus Rex and watched the play in our theater. I am more than ready to get our assignment and do it, because all I want is for this semester to be over with. Mr. Mullins has been gone all week and that gave me no chance to talk with him about the MWDS, so I probably did bad on that too, but I tried my best.
I got my SAT scores back couple days ago, they are alright to me, but my dad hates them. And he's upset. And kinda mad. And I can't honestly care anymore. I did the best I could do.

Oedipus. Ah, this story. Well, it's not really a story, more as a play, but it's a more interesting play than usual. I'm actually enjoying this, maybe it's because I know what happened before the play started and I can go along and think ahead and guess what might happen and go along with it. As say, in Shakespeare's play, you're given an outline and supposed to understand their olden English talk.
I changed my book to The Weird Sister because I started Clockwork Orange, and literally 6 pages in I had noo idea what I was reading. Every three words there are very peculiar words, ones that you won't know and probably won't ever see again. So I'm hoping this one turns out better.
